Brook welcomes DCSF campaign

Responding to the launch of the DCSF campaign Everyday conversations every day, Simon Blake, Brook’s Chief Executive, said:

“Children want their parents and carers to be the first educators around sex and relationships. At Brook we know that open communication within the family is an important factor in young people taking responsibility for their sexual health.

“We must focus on empowering young people with the knowledge and skills to make their own choices and be responsible. Programmes such as the FPA Speakeasy course which helps parents and carers to acquire the confidence and skills they need to talk to their children about sex and sexuality are an important part.”
