Help! I think I have an STI
If you're worried that you might have a sexually transmitted infection (STI) it's important to get tested as soon as possible.
People worry for lots of reasons. You might have symptoms, or someone you have had sex with might tell you they have had an STI. Perhaps you have had unprotected sex. The only way to put your mind at rest is to have a test.
It's really simple to get tested for STIs and most STIs are easily and quickly treated. If you do have an STI, you will be able to pass it on to someone else, so It's really important that you don't have unprotected sex if you think you may have an STI. That means that you shouldn't have vaginal sex (where the penis goes in the vagina), anal sex (where the penis goes in the anus) or oral sex (licking, kissing or sucking someone's genitals) without using a condom or a dental dam.
