We work tirelessly to make sure schools and other education providers deliver the education that young people so desperately need. High quality RSE:
In 2025, Brook successfully campaigned against harmful revisions to the RSE curriculum which would have restricted what young people are taught about crucial topics such as contraception and abuse.
Thanks to our efforts, these restrictions were not included in the governments’ new RSE guidance, meaning that young people can continue to learn the information they need to keep themselves safe for generations to come.
RSE is currently only mandatory up to the age of 16. This means that hundreds of thousands of young people are currently missing out on vital education at the crucial point when many first enter romantic relationships and become sexually active.
Young people are increasingly at risk. Last year there was a 10% increase in domestic violence among 16-19 year olds.

We’re campaigning to extend mandatory RSE up to the age of 18, challenging the spread of harmful sexual behaviours and equipping teenagers with the knowledge and confidence they need to safely navigate relationships.
But we can’t do this alone.
