Parent and carer counselling

Being a parent brings its own challenges, and it can be hard to prioritise your own mental health and wellbeing.

Our trained counsellors offer online counselling sessions and in-person sessions in certain locations to help you navigate life’s more challenging moments.

How can counselling help me?

Counselling offers one-to-one time and space to work through issues, whether that’s related to parental pressure, work stress or relationship dynamics. Our trained counsellors understand the realities of balancing care, work and personal wellbeing. Each session they put your needs first – helping you explore, process and gain self-awareness around issues that are challenging you.

Some ways counselling can help:

  • Build strategies for improved resilience and emotional health.
  • Become more self-aware.
  • Feel more in control of your life.
  • Understand how to manage difficult relationship dynamics.
  • Focus on your own wellbeing which will help you better support your family.
  • Regain a sense of identity.

You might need support with one specific issue or want to talk through the many things you’re juggling right now to reclaim some control. Whatever you’re struggling with, our counsellors provide a safe space to work through it.

Our counsellors draw on person-centred therapy. This means that you guide each session based on what matters to you. Your counsellor will help you explore the issue and your feelings and beliefs to become more self-aware and work through to find solutions.

Once you’ve got in touch, our counselling coordinators will organise your first session. After your first session you can choose to continue for as many sessions as you need.

Frequently asked questions

We are able to offer evening counselling sessions. Please get in touch and we can work out if we can work around your schedule.

Yes, the counselling relationship is crucial to the work in counselling so once your sessions start with one counsellor, this is who you will have each session with. However, if you find you are not working well together and would like to change to a different counsellor, we would be able to look at pairing you with a different counsellor.

Once you enquire we will be in touch quickly to let you know next steps. We endeavour to book you in for an appointment quickly from your first enquiry but this may be limited by counsellor availability.
