Each day at Brook, we’re reminded of just how intertwined our sexual and mental health are. This is part of what’s driving our commitment to opening 3 mental health hubs in Brook’s 60th year. Join us for a panel discussion, chaired by Brook’s Designated Mental Health Lead, Helen Corteen, where we’ll explore the links and discuss what we can do as service providers to ensure holistic approaches that keep people healthy and happy.

STI rates are at their highest since records began. Abortion and teenage conception rates are rising too. Research shows that people are turning their backs on contraception but why is that, and what can we do about this public health time bomb? This panel event, chaired by Brook’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Lisa Hallgarten will convene experts to share the latest research and explore recommendations.
Safeguarding is a golden thread that runs through our work, and has been for 60 years. Join us for a panel discussion chaired by Brook’s Director of Education and Innovation, Dougie Boyd. We’ll explore key milestones such as the introduction in 1985 of a foundational piece of medical law – Gillick Competence, which determines if an under 16 can consent to treatment without parental permission or knowledge.
