Wellbeing Hub

Welcome! Our Wellbeing Hub in Cornwall (Truro) supports young people aged between 11-24 to improve their own mental health and wellbeing.

If you’re 11-24 and live or study in Cornwall, our programmes can support you to boost your motivation and self-worth and make positive changes in your life.

You can take a look at the three different programmes that we offer and self-refer using the form below.

Our Programmes

If you need some time and space to think about your mental health with the support of a trained professional and you’re 11-24 in Cornwall, we can help.

Through our programmes, you will meet with a trained Brook Specialist or Counsellor at our Hub in Truro who will help you get the most from the programme and each session. We won’t judge you or tell you what to do. We’re here to listen, guide, and support you in finding meaningful ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

We don’t offer urgent help or mental health treatment. If you feel you need treatment or urgent help, please speak with your parents/carers or a trusted adult and/or find a support organisation.

Mental Health Literacy

The Mental Health Literacy Programme is all about supporting you to understand more about mental health and wellbeing and helping you feel more in control of your life.

This structured programme can help if you want to learn more about mental health. Each session will help you understand more about mental health and will cover topics including feelings, stress, and how to improve your mental health and build a support network.

Group sessions

We also offer the Mental Health Literacy Programme to small groups. These take place within schools, youth centres and similar organisations.

If you’re an organisation or school interested in arranging this for your young people, you can get in touch with us via email wellbeinghubcornwall@brook.org.uk

My Life

The My Life Programme supports you to feel more confident and learn how to improve your mental health and wellbeing in ways that matter to you. This programme can help if you have specific areas you’d like to work on.

You will have six sessions with a Brook Specialist, where you set your own goals and explore steps to reach them with support. Since everyone’s goals are different, the My Life Programme is unique for each person.

Sessions might include learning about relationships, sexual health and wellbeing and using various activities to help you reach your goals.

Counselling

Counselling at the Hub takes place in a safe and welcoming space. You’ll be supported to talk about and understand events in your life that are hard, upsetting or confusing. In this programme you will usually have 8-12 sessions with a Brook Counsellor with each session lasting 50 minutes.

Counselling can help if you’re struggling with a change in your life or if you’re going through a challenging time that is affecting your mental health and wellbeing.

Where can I get support with mental health problems?

Unfortunately, we are not able to support with treating mental health problems or if you need help urgently. However, there are lots of places that can help.

It can be daunting taking that first step to getting help but the sooner you get help the easier it’ll be.
