Hart Gables is a support service for those who identify as LGBTQ+ across the Tees Valley area. Their services include one-to-one support for young people and families, and group sessions.

MESMAC

MESMAC Newcastle supports gay and bisexual men with advice and sexual health services. They have lots of information about youth groups and projects for young LGBT+ people in Newcastle and the surrounding area.

The Proud Trust

The Proud Trust is an LGBT+ organisation that supports LGBT+ young people across the North-West of England. Their services include youth groups, peer support, mentoring programs and the Proud Connections chat service.

In-Trust Merseyside

In-Trust Merseyside provides peer mentoring, support and guidance for trans and intersex people, focusing primarily on health/wellbeing, transitioning, employability issues, and hate crime experiences.

Liverpool

Young Person’s Advisory Service

The Young Person’s Advisory Service (YPAS) provides mental health and emotional wellbeing services for Liverpool’s young people aged 5-25 years old and their families. This includes their LGBTQ+ support service called GYRO, which offers LGBTQ+ groups for young people aged 12-25 as well as one-to-one appointments.

Homotopia

Homotopia is a Liverpool based arts and social justice organisation that supports and platforms local, national and international LGBTQIA socially engaged artists and creatives. They have several ongoing projects, including Young Homotopia. This is a partnership project with GYRO that runs workshops and performances for young LGBTQIA people.

The Butterfly Clinic

The Butterfly Clinic is a dedicated trans sexual health service based in Liverpool. Their services include STI testing, free condoms and lube, PEP and PrEP support, cervical screening, contraception advice and referral to HIV services. They also offer support with safer sex, drugs, alcohol and general lifestyle.

Wirral

LGBTQ+ Support Group

Brook Wirral work with a confidential LGBTQ+ support group at the Hive for young people aged 13-19 years old or up to 25 years old with additional needs.

If any young person is interested in joining the group, they can email LGBTQ@thehiveyouthzone.org to set up an induction or call 0151 705 8000.

Zillo

Zillo is a website for young people living in Wirral, Merseyside, with lots of information about the latest events, arts, culture, news and expert health and wellbeing advice. This includes a section on sexuality and gender, with information about local LGBT+ youth groups.

LGBT Foundation provides information and support for LGBT+ people throughout the UK. This includes local Manchester-based groups for LGBT+ people of all ages.

Yorkshire

Gender space

Gender Space is an LGBT+ service within Barnardo’s which offers support for trans and gender questioning young people aged 13-18 within Yorkshire. Support includes one-to-one and group work and the option of therapy.

LGBT yOUTh

The LGBT yOUTh Service works across Kirklees and provides support to LGBT+ young people aged 11-24 and their parents/carers. Their services include one-to-one support, family support, weekly youth groups in Huddersfield and Dewsbury, and a monthly trans youth group.

Leeds Sexual Health provides information about LGBTQ+ support in Leeds, including various youth groups.

Gendered Intelligence

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving organisation with lots of support for trans and non-binary young people. They also have a trans and gender variant youth group in Leeds for ages 13-20.

The Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) is a specialised clinic for young people (up to the age of 18) who are questioning their gender and/or want support with their gender identity. There is a Leeds base.

SAYiT

SAYiT is a LGBTQ+ young people and sexual health/HIV charity. They offer one-to-one support for young people aged 11-25, support for parents/carers of young LGBTQ+ people, and youth groups for people aged 11-17 and 18-25.

Nottinghamshire

LGBT+ Service Nottinghamshire

The LGBT+ Service Nottinghamshire offer a range of specialist services for children and young people aged 11-25, who identify as LGBT+ or may be questioning their gender and/or sexuality. Their services include one-to-one support, group support and counselling services, and working with young people individually or as part of a family unit.

Trade Sexual Health

Trade Sexual Health is a health and sexual health charity, providing free, confidential health information and support for LGBT+ communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. They offer one-to-one support, rapid HIV testing, social and support groups and a counselling service.

SYA

SYA is a charity that runs and supports youth clubs in Shropshire. This includes a LGBT+ group called XYZ, in both Shrewsbury and Telford.

The Kite Trust

The Kite Trust is an organisation supporting LGBTQ+ young people, as well as parents, carers and other family members of LGBTQ+ young people. They offer one-to-one support for under 25s, social groups for under 30s, residential trips, and a support group for parents/carers of trans and non-binary people.

The Gender Identity Development Service (part of Tavistock and Portman)

CliniQ is a queer inclusive and non-judgemental sexual health and well-being service to trans clients, members of the trans community, their friends and families.

Translondon

Translondon is a discussion and support group for all members of the trans community, whatever their gender identity (or identities) and whatever stage in their transition they have reached (if any at all).

Galop

Galop is London’s LGBT+ anti-violence & abuse charity. Galop gives advice and support to people who have experienced biphobia, homophobia, transphobia, sexual violence or domestic abuse. Galop also supports lesbian, gay, bi, trans and queer people who have had problems with the police or have questions about the criminal justice system. They also have a Helplines page with various numbers available to offer support.

The Mosaic Trust

The Mosaic Trust work to support, educate and inspire young LGBT+ people. They provide a range of services including youth clubs, mentoring, counselling and retreats.

Gendered Intelligence

Gendered Intelligence is a trans-led and trans-involving organisation with lots of support for trans and non-binary young people. They also have trans and gender variant youth groups in London, which includes an Under 12s group for ages 8-11 (to be attended with a parent/carer) and an Under 16s group for ages 11-16.

London Friend

London Friend offers counselling and support around issues such as relationships, sexuality and gender identity, and promoting personal growth and self-confidence. They provide the Antidote service, which is the UK’s oldest LGBT drug and alcohol service. They also run social groups, which are a safe space to meet and socialise as an alternative to the bar and club scene.

Open Barbers

Open Barbers is a hairdressing service for all lengths, genders and sexualities. They offer a personalised and warm haircutting experience with a queer and trans friendly attitude.

Brighton

Allsorts Youth Project

Allsorts is a project based in Brighton, providing young LGBT+ people with one-to-one support, youth groups, an advocacy service and a family support service.

The Clare Project

The Clare Project supports transgender, non-binary and gender-variant people in Brighton and Sussex. They run weekly drop-ins and offer peer support to anyone wishing to explore issues around gender identity.

MindOut

MindOut is a mental health service run by and for LGBTQ people aged 18+ in Brighton. Their services are also available to those who may not identify under the LGBTQ umbrella, including straight people who have sexual and/or romantic relationships with LGBTQ people, people who previously identified as LGBTQ and those who are questioning their sexual and/or gender identities. Their services include workshops, peer groups, counselling, online support, community projects and advocacy work.

Breakout Youth

Breakout Youth offers support in Southampton, Basingstoke, Andover and the New Forest. They run LGBTQ+ Zoom groups to young people who would like access to support.

Y Services

Y Services support and develop the delivery of quality youth work that meets the needs of young people. They offer specific LGBTQ+ support, which includes youth projects and one-to-one support in Fareham, Gosport and Havant.

Outreach Youth LGBTQ+

Outreach Youth is a small youth work charity that supports and works with young people aged under 25 across Suffolk. They currently offer one-to-one support, support for families of trans people, and youth groups.

Freedom

Freedom is a gender and sexuality social action project, delivered by Off The Record. Freedom provides group sessions and one-to-one support specifically for LGBTQ+ young people. Off The Record is a charity providing mental health services for young people aged 11-25 across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Out Of The Can+

Out Of The Can+ are a young person led LGBTQ+ action youth group for ages 13-19. Group activities include debating, film and pizza nights, games, table tennis and art projects.

Proud2Be

Proud2Be is a grassroots user-led social enterprise that supports LGBTQ+ people in Devon and beyond, to lead empowered, fulfilled, and authentic lives. They offer one-to-one support and youth groups for people aged 11-19.

Space Youth Project

Space Youth Project supports young LGBT+ people and their families. They offer regular and free youth groups across Dorset for under 25s, as well as one-to-one support and family support.

It’s OK 2BU

It’s OK 2BU has a range of groups and support options for young LGBTQ+ people across Somerset. Their services include a weekly youth support group for ages 13-18, private messaging and forum boards, monthly meetings for over 18s, a support group for young trans people and their parents/carers, and one-to-one sessions.

Cara-Friend

Cara-Friend is an organisation providing information and support services to people of all ages in Northern Ireland, including youth groups, an LGBTQI+ Switchboard, and family support.

The Rainbow Project

The Rainbow Project is a health organisation that works to improve the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people and their families in Northern Ireland. They offer a range of services, including counselling, help and advice and community events. They also have two centres, one in Belfast and one in Londonderry.

SAIL are a support organisation for the families of transgender and gender variant people in Northern Ireland. They directly support families across the region, as well as advocating for trans people and their families at a regional, national and European level.

TransgenderNI are an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of trans people across Northern Ireland. They focus on legal reform, strategic policy, community resources and creating lasting change.

Belfast Butterfly Club

Belfast Butterfly club is a support network for transgendered people and their families. By providing education and information, they seek to increase awareness, overcome discrimination and achieve equality.

QueerSpace

QueerSpace is a volunteer-led collective which has been serving the LGBT community of Belfast and Northern Ireland since 1998. It does this by raising LGBT visibility, supporting LGBT community activities and facilitating communication.

Non-Binary Northern Ireland

Non-Binary Northern Ireland is a community group for people living in Northern Ireland who identify under the non-binary spectrum. They host meet-ups every month for non-binary people.

TENI (the Transgender Equality Network Ireland) offer a range of support services for trans people and their families, as well as education, training and advocacy work.

Gay Newry

Gay Newry is a social, befriending and informational organisation that exists to offer support to the the LGBT population in Newry City and the surrounding counties of Armagh, Down and Louth. Their services include personal development courses, advocacy and referrals, signposting, befriending, counselling, access to rapid HIV testing, sexual health advice, a women’s group, a youth group and a family support group.

Scotland

LGBT Health and Wellbeing

LGBT Health and Wellbeing provide support services, social events and resources so LGBT+ people can address the health issues that impact their lives and connect with their local communities. They work to ensure LGBT people have access to quality healthcare, including counselling. There is also a Trans Support Programme available for people aged 16+, which provides emotional support, resources, guidance and information.

They also host the LGBT Helpline Scotland, which provides information and emotional support to the LGBTQIA+ community across Scotland, as well as the families, friends and supporters of LGBT+ people, health and social care professionals working with LGBT+ people, and those who are questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity.

LGBT Youth Scotland

LGBT Youth Scotland is a national charity for LGBTI young people, working with 13–25 year olds across the country. They run a range of youth groups as well as providing both telephone and online support to young people around their sexuality and gender identity, including counselling, information and advice.

Scottish Trans Alliance

The Scottish Trans Alliance works to improve the equality, rights and inclusion of trans people in Scotland. Their work includes running forums for trans people, support with healthcare, and pushing policy and research.

The Equality Network

The Equality Network is a leading national charity working for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) equality and human rights in Scotland. They provide support, advice and training in order to build stronger communities, ensuring that LGBT+ people and communities have the resources to reduce social isolation, and the skills to improve equality and human rights in the law, services and employment.

LEAP Sports

LEAP Sports Scotland works for greater inclusion for LGBTI people in sport and against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in a sports context. They run various sports events and groups for LGBT+ people in Scotland.

Pink Saltire are Scotland’s community voice for LGBT+ people of all age groups, in every corner of the country. Their services include filmmaking for young people, advice and support, and training.

Edinburgh Trans Women

Edinburgh Trans Women provides support and social contact for trans women in Scotland, as well as people who are questioning their gender identity. They meet once a month for a support group meeting with general chat and discussions relating to gender, and also run a range of events.

Stonewall Cymru

Stonewall Cymru is part of Stonewall, a national UK organisation supporting LGBT+ people, specifically for Wales.

Bi Cymru/Wales

Bi Cymru/Wales is the All-Wales network for people attracted to more than one gender and people who think they may be bisexual. They provide a network and fortnightly meetings to bring together bisexual people, people attracted to more than one gender, and people who they may be bisexual from across Wales.

The LGBT+ Cymru Helpline provides general information, advice and confidential support in many area of life and across various issues that LGBT+ people, as well as their family and friends, may experience.

Umbrella Cymru

Umbrella Cymru offers support services aimed at advancing gender and sexuality diversity, equality and inclusion across Wales. They have youth groups for young LGBTQ+ people and allies aged 11-18, both online and in-person, as well as a support and social group for parents, carers, guardians, friends and family members of trans, non-binary and gender diverse young people.

Viva LGBT

Viva LGBT provides youth groups and support for young LGBTQ people aged 14-25. There are three weekly groups, held in Rhyl, Wrexham and Llandudno Junction.

South Wales Trans and Non-Binary Mutual Aid are a mutual aid group organised by a diverse team of radical trans and non-binary people in South Wales. They provide support with the material needs of trans, nonbinary and intersex people in their local community.

Glitter Cymru

Glitter Cymru is a Cardiff-based social meet-up group for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people who are LGBT+.

Bridgend

Impact

Impact is a weekly LGBTQ+ youth group for ages 11-16 at Cathay’s Community Centre. Members are welcome to stay until they are aged 18, but there is also a group for 17-25 year olds called Impact+.
