Relationships and Sex Education shouldn’t stop at 16, a time when many young people are entering their first relationships. Our KS5 sessions help older teenagers navigate relationships consent and make informed choices about their sexual health.

Discussion-based sessions

Our discussion-based sessions give young people a safe space to explore topics through open dialogue, guided by our Education and Wellbeing Specialists. These sessions prioritise dialogue over pre-determined delivery outcomes. Sessions available:

Other sessions available for KS5 (aged 16-18)

Session aim: To ensure the group have a deep knowledge of menstruation, and begin to think about different experiences and symptoms, as well as management of menstrual wellbeing.

Session objectives:

  • Explore possible experiences and symptoms of menstruation

  • Know ways to manage symptoms of menstruation

  • Learn about ways to promote menstrual wellbeing

  • Understand where to go to ask for menstruation help and support

Session aim: To deepen understanding of relationship abuse, how to identify it and how to access support.

Session objectives:

  • Understand and explain the meaning of ‘relationship abuse’
  • Know and identify the different types of abuse that can be present within relationships
  • Challenge common myths and misunderstandings about relationship abuse
  • Know how to get help with relationship abuse

Session aim: To define consent and explore the context of people’s moral and legal responsibilities to seek it.

Session objectives:

  • Recognise consent in terms of freedom, capacity and choice
  • Recognise the key elements of the law in relation to sexual consent
  • Practice and explore how to ask and respond to consent using verbal and non-verbal language and body language
  • Identify myths about sex, sexual violence, rape and consent
  • Describe how to access local support services

Session aim: To evaluate values around relationships and understand the importance of pleasure in intimate relationships.

Session objectives:

  • Describe factors which impact values around sex and relationships

  • Recognise the importance of being inclusive of difference

  • Identify the qualities of a healthy relationships and skills which can support them in times of stress

  • Recognise that sex and sexual pleasure will be unique for each person

Session aim: To ensure young people have the correct, factual information so they feel empowered and informed to make positive choices about sexual health, and to know where to get support.

Session objectives:

  • Describe what contraception is and how it works
  • Describe how contraception can reduce the risk of unplanned pregnancies and the transmission of STIs
  • Recognise different methods of contraception and develop skills in assessing what may impact people’s choices
  • Identify the potential implications of an unplanned pregnancy
  • Describe how to access local health and support services in your area, including the importance of accessing in good time

Session aim: To equip young people with the knowledge and skills to develop healthy and respectful online relationships, and to recognise both the opportunities and potential risks of online dating in terms of consent, wellbeing, and personal safety.

Session objectives:

  • Understand current age restrictions for dating apps and websites

  • Recognise the potential benefits and risks presented by online dating platforms

  • Establish and respect personal boundaries in online interactions

  • Identify indicators that someone online may not be who they claim to be

  • Develop strategies for protecting personal data and staying safe online and in person

  • Know where to seek help and support with any aspect of relationships on/offline

Looking to book for larger groups?

We offer discounts for drop-down days and bulk bookings. We also provide a limited number of talks for up to 80 young people. While talks are an effective way of reaching larger audiences, our interactive lesson-based sessions provide greater opportunities for discussion, participation and questions, helping young people engage more deeply with the content.
