CAMISH operates a free and confidential service for people aged 24 and under in Camden and Islington, offering sexual health screening, contraception, pregnancy testing and wellbeing support.

CAMISH stands for the Camden and Islington Young People’s Sexual Health network. It is a partnership between Homerton University Hospital, Brook and the Brandon Centre.

Free condoms

C-Card is a free and confidential condom distribution scheme for young people aged between 13-25. One you’re signed up, you’ll be able to get external and internal condoms and lube for free from a number of outlets.

STI testing

If you’re aged 24 or under, you can get tested for STIs at any of our clinics for free.

You can also request an STI home test kit online or pick one up from a number of locations. It’s quick, easy and completely confidential.

How can CAMISH help me?

At CAMISH, we’re here to help you with all aspects of your sexual health and wellbeing.

Whatever is going on, our friendly team will support you with whatever you need, even if you’re not sure exactly what that is yet. All of our services are free and confidential.

We offer:

  • Free condoms
  • Free testing and treatment for STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonas vaginalis, syphilis, HIV and hepatitis
  • Pregnancy testing, advice and referral
  • Free contraception
  • Free emergency contraception such as the emergency pill and long-acting reversible contraception
  • Sex and relationship information and support
  • Signposting to other services
  • Counselling and wellbeing support

Please note

Certain types of contraception are only offered on certain days or at certain clinics, so please call ahead to make sure.

Trichomonasis and Hepatitis testing is only available in the Pulse clinics.

Free condoms

The C-Card is a free and confidential condom distribution scheme for young people aged 24 and under living to enable safe and easy access of external condoms, internal condoms and lube.

To access free condoms you will need to register with the scheme by accessing your local C-Card provider.

Once registered, you will be provided with a keyring card that has a unique number and on it to enable you to access condoms more easily as you will be able to present the keyring to any of the services identified on the map below and receive condoms.

Free STI testing

Young people aged 24 and under can access confidential, safe and easy access to testing and treatment for STIs from CAMISH.

You can also get a free STI home test kit from Sexual Health London. Postal kits are sent directly to the address you provide, and you can then send the test back in the free post envelope provided. testing is a simple and non-invasive urine test or vaginal swab that you complete yourself. All results are sent to you confidentially.

Brook recommends testing two weeks after unprotected sex (sex without a condom) to ensure an accurate result.

Please note:

The current testing kits supplied are only suitable for vaginal swabs or urine samples. If you have had unprotected anal or oral sex we recommend that you contact a clinic directly so that we can ensure you are provided with the appropriate testing.

COVID-19 Update

CAMISH services are still running for young people aged 24 and under.

We usually offer walk-in appointments. However, to keep our staff and visitors safe, CAMISH is currently offering phone appointments during which referrals to a face-to-face service will be made if necessary.
