EduCare: Harmful sexual behaviours

Many of us can feel anxious about responding to sexual behaviour in children and young people.

Brook wants anyone who works with young people to feel confident in distinguishing between healthy and harmful sexual behaviour. We also want you to feel confident in responding in the right way.

The purpose of this course

• Increase awareness of what might be harmful behaviour among children and young people
• Show that young people demonstrate a spectrum of behaviours
• Help in the early identification of children who may need support
• Give you an overview of how to respond
• Show that a whole school or college approach encourages healthy relationships and helps to prevent harmful sexual behaviour

This course has been developed in partnership with EduCare, the UK’s leading provider of essential duty of care and safeguarding training.

Who is this course for?

The course is for those who work in any educational setting, including primary, secondary or college. The course is an introduction to harmful sexual behaviours and so is not aimed at Designated Safeguarding Leads, although it can act as a refresher alongside a more advanced course.
