RSE support for schools

Brook is the only national charity to offer sexual health, education & wellbeing services for young people.

We can support your school in many ways to provide meaningful and effective RSE.

Partnering with Brook

We want to work with you to give young people the RSE they want and deserve. Our products below are just a snapshot of how we can help.

With a tailored approach, we can work with you to:

  • Consult with you about your RSE offer
  • Review your current practices and policies and identify improvements
  • Co-design lessons to fit within your wider curriculum
  • Develop support on particular topics to respond to specific situations.

Embedding excellent RSE

A full PSHE curriculum

We have developed a full PSHE curriculum for key stages 1-5.

Brook’s curriculum has been produced by experts who have a range of professional qualifications to help your school deliver great RSE.

Getting staff ready

Our training sessions offer guidance on a range of key topics.

With the help of Brook experts, your staff will gain the skills and confidence to deliver better RSE lessons and feel ready to support young people as they navigate life’s challenges.

Education sessions for young people

Our Brook experts deliver participative, informative education sessions in schools and other settings to involve young people in their RSE.

Keeping young people safe

The Sexual Behaviours Traffic Light Tool complements organisational safeguarding procedures by supporting professionals working with children and young people to identify, understand and respond appropriately to sexual behaviours.

Using the Tool supports you to:

  • Identify behaviour and establish if sexual behaviour is typical or developmentally appropriate, problematic or harmful.
  • Understand what that behaviour is communicating and why the child or young person may be exhibiting the behaviour.
  • Respond appropriately, considering how the type of response will depend on what’s motivating the behaviour, what the behaviour is communicating and the severity of the behaviour.

You can bulk buy our Traffic Light Tool and training so that all staff have access which contributes to a whole school approach to RSE.

Traffic Light Tool

The Sexual Behaviours Traffic Light Tool and training helps professionals to identify, understand and respond appropriately to sexual behaviours in school.

THE QUALITY OF THE TRAINING PROVIDED BY BROOK IS OUTSTANDING… STAFF SAID IT WAS THE BEST SAFEGUARDING TRAINING THEY HAD EVER RECEIVED; IT CHALLENGED THEIR OWN PERSONAL VALUES/ATTITUDES AND ALSO TOOK THEM OUTSIDE THEIR COMFORT ZONE. IN TURN WE HAVE SEEN AN INCREASE IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF SEXUAL BEHAVIOURS AND THE CONSISTENCY IN LOGGING THEM AS GREEN, ORANGE OR RED BEHAVIOURS.
