The Big Period Lesson Live with Lil-Lets

There’s less than a month to go until Brook hosts the Big Period Lesson Live with our partner Lil-Lets. With 450 schools already signed up, it looks set to be the biggest Live Lesson yet!

To mark the fourth year of our partnership with Lil-Lets, we’re inviting Year 6s and 7s to join us online on 1 March 2023 at 10am for a free, one-hour interactive session all about periods.

At Brook, we believe all young people should learn about puberty in a timely and age-appropriate way, making sure that they can be prepared for the changes to their bodies, feelings and lives.

The session, led by Brook educators, will support students to better understand their bodies, puberty and periods and know where to go for support. The lesson will be great way to reduce stigma, refresh an understanding of our bodies and a way to open up conversations and spaces to talk about periods in a supportive way for those who have periods and those who don’t.

Kelly Harris, Brook’s Business Development and Participation Lead, says:

“We know that for young people starting, experiencing and talking about periods can be daunting and embarrassing – that’s why learning about periods in a safe, friendly and open environment is crucial to reducing the stigma.

We want every young person to feel comfortable talking about periods and asking for help when they need it.”

This will be the fourth live broadcast that Brook has delivered, following the Big RSE Lesson during Sexual Health Week 2022 which reached more than 16,000 young people and their teachers. We’re hoping this broadcast will be just as successful, leaving a meaningful impact on all the young people that join us.

For anyone who can’t join the live Big Period broadcast, the lesson will be available on demand for 12 months so teachers and young people can tune in at a time that suits. For teachers working with SEND young people, we recommend watching the on-demand recording which can be paused to allow time for further discussion if needed.

Lucy Anson, Brand & Category Insight Manager at Lil-Lets says,

We know that knowledge is power. That’s why through our Big Period Lesson Live we want to educate all young people about their bodies, periods, and the products available to them. This will ensure that everyone is able to make informed decisions.

Thanks to Lil-Lets for making this possible!
