Masculinity and Misogyny
This briefing will provide an overview of how misogyny impacts children and young people in school and offer teachers practical activities and approaches to tackling harmful attitudes in the classroom.

Understanding Masculinity and Tackling Misogyny
Professionals will gain the knowledge and confidence to raise young people’s awareness of harmful gender stereotypes and develop young people’s critical engagement with online and offline misogyny.

Teaching Sensitive Subjects
This flexible workshop provides professionals working with young people with an overview of key issues in relationships and sex education and enables them to effectively navigate discussions, answer questions, and signpost effectively.
Managing Difficult Questions
This training will build participant’s confidence in managing difficult, sensitive and potentially challenging questions in Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), whilst creating safe, inclusive and trauma informed environments.
All our misogyny & masculinity lessons can be delivered by Brook, and some can be purchased as lesson plans to incorporate into your PSHE curriculum.
Lesson Bundle – Identity & Equality
Lessons for Years 7-11 encouraging pupils to reflect on stereotypes, challenge prejudice and understand equality within relationships and society, developing critical awareness of harmful gender norms and online misogyny.
Year 8 – Challenging Harmful Gender Stereotypes
A Year 8 lesson to introduce learners to the harmful effects of misogyny and challenge unfair gender stereotypes that reinforce limited notions of masculinity and femininity.
Year 8 – Standing Up for Ourselves and Others
A Year 8 lesson to help pupils recognise bullying, understand its different forms, and learn practical skills to support themselves and others using Brook’s Five Ways to Help.
Year 10 – Dating and Relationship Expectations
A Year 10 lesson to support pupils to explore factors that shape relationship values and expectations, develop skills to challenge harmful gender stereotypes, and recognise the characteristics of healthy relationships.
Year 11 – Gender Pressures & Expectations
A Year 11 lesson to build understanding of gender stereotypes and the pressures they create, and the skills to challenge those stereotypes.
Year 11 – Safely Responding to Sexual Harassment
A Year 11 lesson to build pupils’ skills and confidence to recognise sexual harassment and safely apply active bystander approaches.
Year 12/13 – Exploring Gender Experiences & Misogyny
This discussion-based workshop delivered by Brook supports young people to safely explore how gender influences their everyday life, relationships, and identity, while challenging stereotypes and promoting empathy and understanding.
Year 12/13 – Relationship Values, Equality, & Intimacy
This Brook-delivered lesson supports students to evaluate values around relationships and understand the importance of pleasure in intimate relationships.
